A timeless look into Arts & Culture

Tropical North Queensland is the only region in Australia with two distinct Indigenous cultures, offering an array of opportunities to experience Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

The Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is a great experience to immerse yourself in the rich and ancient cultures of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Tjapukai offers both day and night tours. By day, the park offers interactive experiences ranging from dance performances to boomerang and spear throwing. By night, travel through to the legends of the dreamtime and discover the magic of Australia’s ancient indigenous culture. The Cairns Regional Gallery is an elegant combination of ancient and modern art, a fusion of the region’s tourism and cultural diversity that showcases up to 30 exhibitions per year. Featuring the work of national and international artists, there is a strong focus on local and indigenous artwork.
