Cairns City & Beaches bike Trails

Cycling Central

With its diverse wilderness and abundant national parks, Tropical North Queensland is home to many breathtaking mountain biking tracks. It’s important to always follow the advice from Queensland Parks and never venture into dangerous areas to prevent serious injury or death. Check trail conditions for the Smithfield MTB Park, Atherton Forest MTB Park and for all other trails visit Trailforks.

If you want to indulge your adventurous streak, be captivated by exotic experiences, treat yourself to some pampering or just soak up the tropical lifestyle, Cairns is the place to do it. And with its flat terrain and compact size, the region’s biggest city is also the perfect place to explore on two wheels.

This vibrant, laid-back centre has a range of bike paths and cycle ways that allow you to explore its huge range of eating, shopping, cultural and natural attractions at your own pace.

Keep in mind that you need to share the road safely when riding on Cairns’ roads and streets. Unless otherwise marked, cycle ways are also walking paths, so ride with care and look out for pedestrians.
