The Tour of the Tropics event will be conducted over three days, commencing with a kermesse race in Herberton Village.

This will be an early afternoon event providing a real family-friendly, festival atmosphere. Spectators can sit and enjoy the race while enjoying the sumptuous local food on offer at pop up local food stalls.

Upon completion of the race, the official opening ceremony will take place followed by street entertainment to continue the festival atmosphere in the Herberton Village.

The Tour of the Tropics moves onto Lake Eacham and Yungaburra for Days 2 & 3 to take in the picturesque landscapes of the lush rainforest.

Stages 2 & 3 initially take the cyclists through the Crater Lakes National Park at Lake Eacham, with the following day showing them the beauty of Yungaburra, Curtain Fig National Park and the Historical Peeramon Hotel, then back through Yungaburra and into the town centre for the final hurrah.

All festivities, family entertainment, corporate marquees, media centre, food and wine stalls will remain in Yungaburra to encourage spectators to enjoy the environment and the festival style sporting event.

The country-style local of Yungaburra will become the hub of the food, wine and music festival for the final day of racing for Tour of the Tropics which will conclude with a presentation ceremony and entertainment on the evening of the third night (4th August 2019).
