Join in the excitement of a traditional country race meeting.
The Oak Park Races are held each year at Oak Park station, situated off the road which joins the Lynd Junction and Hughenden. It is approximately 80km south of the Lynd Junction in Far North Queensland.
The races are usually held on the first weekend of July. There are activities for all the family to enjoy in the week leading up to the races which are normally run on the Friday and Saturday. Kids and Adults Fancy Dress, a formal Ball, Fashions on the Feild for both race days and much more.
The Oak Park Races, set in beautiful shady grounds, feature a ten-race program over two days with bookies on site. Professional horse racing. Bar and food facilities are available, along with children activities. There’s also ‘Fashions on the Field’ both days and a monster auction after the races. Formal Ball on Thursday night with great prizes for Matron, Belle, Best Dressed Couple, Stallion and Colt of the Ball. Friday night is a Fancy Dress “Mad Hatters Party”. Children’s fancy dress on Thursday. Pig racing Wednesday night at the Hall. Oak Park Race Club will host the 115th Annual Race Meeting this year.
