The Laura Aboriginal Dance Festival is an exciting biennial gathering in Cape York Peninsula, highlighting the many diverse communities, language, song, dance and stories. Witness the passing on of culture across the generations, along with showcasing the strength, pride and uniqueness of Aboriginal people.

Event Information

3-day festival in Cape York, highlighting indigenous, language, song, dance & stories. 5,000+ people, 20+ Communities, 500+ performers.

For participants

  • Camping and nearby accommodation is available
  • Patrons attending the Festival need to be self-sufficient with their own camping equipment and power if needed.
  • There will be a sufficient amount of toilet and shower facilities available at the Site.
  • Small fire pits are allowed for cooking purposes and must be managed by adults.  Please take notice of the Fire Emergency warnings to make sure all fire places are to be extinguished after use.  Aboriginal Rangers will be assisting to ensure these rules are carried out, as there have been a few incidents with children being burnt.
  • Bottled water can be purchased on-site or bring your own. A limited amount of take-away food stalls will also be operating at the Festival.
  • Please note that there are no ATM’s available at the festival, ensure that you have enough cash.
