Event Details
The Gregory Downs Saddles and Paddles is a family-friendly event in Queensland’s outback featuring the Gregory Downs Jockey Club (‘Saddles’) and the North West Canoe Club (Paddles’). The club has been racing for over 100 years and many members compete in the canoe race. The event starts on the first Saturday of May with races, luncheons, fashions on the field, dinner, music, and fun for kids. The next day, the Gregory River Canoe Race continues the celebrations with lunch by the river.
