Event Details

The annual Great Adventures Green Island Ocean Swim is set to make a splash on October 20th, with competitors taking on 500m, 1.5km and 3km distance swim.

This unique Great Barrier Reef competition takes place on the sheltered side of the island, with each leg of the event offering a variety of conditions for competitors; from shallows to wind chop and tidal flow. If you’re lucky, a green sea turtle or two might join in the fun!

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall for men and women in the 1.5km and the 3km event. Prizes will be presented to all 500m competitors. A free nipper’s/beginners swim will take place parallel to the beach and registration can be completed on the day, free of charge!

The Great Adventures Green Island Swim is a community event and is supported by both Surf Lifesaving Queensland and Cairns Crocs.
