The Great Barrier Reef Chinese New Year Festival’s celebrations present a cohesive cultural experience for locals and visitors alike, offering cultural performances, food experiences and activities designed to encourage people from diverse backgrounds to come together and celebrate.
‘Under the Sea’ Water Dragon Dance will be performed daily at 11:45am at the Cairns Aquarium. Included with entry into the Aquarium.

This year’s program includes colourful Lion and Dragon performances, Chinese drumming, interactive art and cultural displays, Chinese food and a huge variety of market stalls and street food. Children’s activities include the opportunity to feed the Lion and Chinese Craft.
2 x Stages will provide action-packed entertainment and prize draws. Come and get your photo with the Chinese Lion and Dragon’s and feed the lions for good luck.
