Market Day

Shopping is a favourite pastime in Tropical North Queensland, with an abundance of markets to occupy your weekends. If you’re a lover of antiques or retro, you’ll often find special pieces and quirky finds in the vintage shops and second-hand stores around the region, but don’t forget to add some markets to your list. From the well-established Rusty’s in Cairns, where you can shop for dinner, buy a new outfit and have a massage all under one roof, to the eclectic Port Douglas Markets under the shady trees of Anzac Park, to the historic village of Yungaburra. For a taste of tropical lifestyle try the Tanks Markets, set amongst the rainforest at the Cairns Botanical Gardens or stroll along the Esplanade at the Palm Cove markets.
