Divers Den has been proudly operating for over 40 years, we are not only one of the largest but also the longest established Great Barrier Reef operators in the region. The reefs we visit from Cairns (Norman, Saxon, and Hastings) and Port Douglas (Agincourt, Opal and St Crispins) are all part of the larger Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, but benefit from healthier waters, no freshwater runoff, strict access, and more of the typical tropical reef critters we all have come to love! Whether you’re a first-time snorkeller or an experienced SCUBA diver your safety and enjoyment is our priority.
If you’d like to spend a day on the reef then our two premium dayboat options are AquaQuest in Port Douglas and ReefQuest in Cairns, both custom built with modern and state of the art facilities. We allow divers to explore the reef unguided, provide scuba gear of the highest quality and have decades of experience, meaning we are a great choice for certified divers. For those wishing to scuba dive for the first time, we offer introductory diving, enabling those without a dive license to experience scuba with one of our experienced instructors. If snorkelling is more your thing, you can choose to explore the reef independently after our extensive briefings or join one of the many complimentary crew-led tours.
We are a PADI 5* training centre and have certified over 130,000 students, so learning to dive with us will be as safe as it is fun! Our purpose built training centre has the only heated and covered pool in Cairns, and we have four classrooms where you can learn your dive theory in comfort. With a range of options for dive courses, we are able to suit any timeframe or budget. If you are looking to continue your scuba education then we also offer PADI courses from advanced open water right up to instructor level.
When a single day on the reef doesn’t seem enough, you can choose to join our liveaboard OceanQuest. More of a floating hotel than a boat, each room comes with an ensuite and you can relax in our comfortable bar area, snooze in loungers on our sundecks or relax in the dining room while enjoying a chef-prepared meal. When onboard, you have the opportunity for up to 5 dive or snorkel sessions each day. This includes our amazing ‘sharks in the dark’ experience which isn’t to be missed. Divers can also take part in ‘fluoro diving’ where a special filter and torch make the reef light up in a multitude of bright, fluorescent colours.
Whatever your requirement or ability level, divers den has the tour to suit you and your needs. We can’t wait to see you on the Great Barrier Reef very soon!

“The actions of people across the planet will define the future of the Great Barrier Reef.”
Andy Ridley – Founder Earth Hour & CEO Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef
We all have a responsibility to protect our natural heritage. The threats to the Great Barrier Reef are real and immediate, but if we respond now with action not apathy, there is hope.
We’re mobilising a global network of Citizens, committed to taking action for the Reef and the planet. Our message to the world is that the Reef is still beautiful, inspiring and most importantly, worth fighting for.
Help us build a new social movement and become a Citizen of the Great Barrier Reef. By claiming your citizenship, you’re not only helping the Reef – you’re securing the future of the planet.Visit the website
